“All of my works are narratives. You may be looking at the beginning, middle, or end of the story. I leave it to the viewer’s imagination to “fill in the blanks”. In this way, his or her own personal experiences and interior thoughts add dimensions to the departure narrative.

In many instances, my work looks outward at self-destructive evils like war, despoilment of the environment, and social injustice. Black humor plays a roll in a large number of my pieces that draw on the absurd. Many works incorporate more than one perspective on these themes. You might think of them as three-dimensional paintings.

The challenge for me is to find an aesthetically satisfying framework, a composition and a concept in which I can construct “intrigues” that unify found objects, sculpted elements, and castings from life. For this reason my ideas are always in flux and a piece can change dramatically throughout the creative process.”
